Steven Donkin Steven Donkin was born in Morristown, New Jersey. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Berry College, and Master’s and Doctoral degrees from the Georgia Institute of Technology. A taste for adventure combined with a short attention span have led him to pursue a variety of careers, including packager in a styrofoam cup factory, house painter, timber tree planter, community organizer with the ill-fated advocacy group ACORN, laboratory research assistant, toxicologist and project manager in a environmental consulting company, college and high school science teacher, and, in 2002, Green Party candidate for Mayor of Washington, D.C He and his wife Julia live in Silver Spring, Maryland.
