Submission

We publish mostly memoirs and mainstream fiction. We also consider motivational and self-help books. We have an affinity for manuscripts that inspire, inform, entertain or provoke thought. Note that we do not publish science fiction, fantasy or romance novels. We only publish manuscripts that are of high professional quality. It is not necessary for a prospective author to have an agent or any publishing history in order to submit their manuscript to us.

 

Please submit the following information to Aberdeen Bay Acquisitions Director: your name, mailing address, phone number, email address, completed preliminary marketing form (click here), author bio, story synopsis, and the first three chapters (if you believe we need to see more to get a better idea of your story, you are welcome to submit additional chapters). All manuscripts and materials will be recycled, not returned.

 

We appreciate the many queries submitted. As a small, independent publisher, we only accept a limited number of manuscripts for publication. In making our decisions we review many angles including the quality of the manuscript, the marketability of the book, the willingness of the author to be an active participant in book promotion, and our ability to properly support it within the context of our target markets.

 

Generally, you should expect to hear from us within eight weeks if we are interested in your submission. If you have not heard from us after twelve weeks, you can safely assume we are not the right publisher for your story.

 

Please do not give up! Your story may be very welcomed by another company that publishes similar stories. Under no circumstances shall any writer submit inquiries or request status updates about their manuscript. When we decide to review your entire manuscript, we will contact you via email and provide detailed instructions.
